As a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) in both the front and back of the office, Andrea is one Living Wellness Medical Center’s Patient Representatives. In addition to her medical assisting background, she’s also certified in venipuncture, billing and coding.
Over the past 15 years, she’s had a wide variety of hands-on experience in the medical field, including six years working in general surgery alongside doctors, and a few of those years working alongside chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, an obstetrics surgeon, a neurologist and other naturopaths. Andrea’s also been a licensed esthetician for the past eight years.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, she’s been living in Phoenix, Arizona for the last four years. In her early 20’s, she moved up to San Luis Obispo, California, where she celebrated the organically-focused town and all it had to offer. It was then that she started to develop a strong passion for herbs and natural remedies.
As a mom of five boys, she still finds time to appreciate art, photography and nature. She plans on attending the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) next year.
Kayla Bittner is an incoming medical student at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. She grew up on the East Coast and graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree. As a collegiate-level soccer player with a deep-rooted passion for holistic medicine, her own health struggles finally led to her true calling.
Having moved to Arizona to pursue her dream of becoming a Naturopathic physician, Kayla has worked diligently to complete her prerequisites, and will attend the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine this Fall 2016.
As LWMC’s Social Media Coordinator and one of our Patient Service Representatives, you will see Kayla around the office, or behind the screen, helping to manage the day-to-day flow of the practice, and helping to connect your needs with our mission.
Her favorite activities include spending time outdoors biking, hiking, running and walking, ‘nerding out’ to science and health podcasts, and spending time in the kitchen playing around with ingredients, while recreating some of her favorite recipes to make them “allergen-friendly.”
