GETTING STARTED
How are the peptides and injectable therapies at Living Wellness Medical Center prescribed?
All compounded medications and peptide therapies require a consultation and prescription from a licensed Living Wellness provider. Your protocol is individualized based on your health history, current symptoms, and lab work. Compounded products are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety or efficacy. However, they are prepared using ingredients sourced from FDA-registered manufacturers and dispensed through 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies regulated by the FDA and applicable state Boards of Pharmacy.
If you are a new patient and are not sure where to begin, give our front desk team a call — we will walk you through everything from your first consultation to your first shipment.
Do I need to be an existing patient to order peptides or injectables?
Yes. All therapies offered through Living Wellness Medical Center require an active provider relationship. This means you will need a consultation before any prescription is written or any product is shipped. This is not just a formality — it ensures that what you receive is appropriate for your body, your goals, and your health history. If you are ready to get started, contact our front desk to schedule your intake appointment.
What is the difference between a subscription and a single purchase?
We offer both options to give you flexibility:
Subscription: Your medication is prepared and shipped automatically on your prescribed schedule — monthly or as determined by your protocol. Subscriptions ensure you never run out mid-cycle, often come with preferred pricing, and keep your therapy on track without the need to reorder each time. All subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Single Purchase: If you prefer to order one vial or one supply at a time without a recurring commitment, a single purchase option is available. This is a good fit for patients who are just starting out and want to see how their body responds before committing to a subscription.
If you are unsure which option is right for you, our front desk team is happy to help you decide.
What peptides and injectables are currently available?
Living Wellness Medical Center offers a growing menu of compounded peptide and injectable therapies, including options for:
- Weight management and metabolic support
- Energy, cellular health, and anti-aging
- Tissue repair and recovery
- Hormone optimization
- Hair, skin, and collagen support
- Cognitive function and mood
Specific products, availability, and pricing are discussed during your consultation or can be reviewed with our front desk team. Availability may vary based on pharmacy supply and your individual eligibility.
SUBSCRIPTIONS & PURCHASING
How does the subscription program work?
Once your provider writes your prescription and your subscription is activated, your medication is prepared by our compounding pharmacy and shipped directly to your home on your designated schedule. You will receive a text notification with tracking information when your order ships. Your subscription renews automatically each cycle until you contact us to cancel or modify it. There are no long-term contracts — you are free to pause, adjust, or cancel at any time with appropriate notice.
Can I switch from a single purchase to a subscription, or vice versa?
Yes, absolutely. If you started with a single purchase and decide you love your results, you can convert to a subscription at any time. Likewise, if you are on a subscription and prefer to move to single purchases, just let our front desk team know and we will make that change for you. We ask that any changes be communicated at least 2 weeks before your next scheduled shipment or refill to allow adequate processing time.
What happens if I need my next shipment sooner than scheduled?
If you are metabolizing your medication faster than expected or have a scheduling conflict, give our front desk team a call and we will do our best to arrange an earlier shipment. Please keep in mind that compounded medications require preparation time at the pharmacy, so the sooner you reach out, the better.
Can I purchase more than one therapy at a time?
Yes — many patients use multiple therapies simultaneously as part of a comprehensive wellness plan. Your provider will help you identify which combinations are appropriate for your goals and ensure there are no contraindications between therapies. Each product will be reflected separately on your prescription and your billing.
SELF-ADMINISTRATION & INJECTIONS
Can I really do this at home? I have never given myself an injection before.
Yes — and you are not alone in feeling nervous about it at first. Subcutaneous injections are far simpler than most people expect, and the vast majority of our patients become comfortable with self-administration within their first one to two doses. The needle used for subcutaneous injections is very small and the technique is straightforward.
Before your first shipment arrives, your provider or a member of our clinical team will walk you through the process in detail. We also provide written and video instructions with every kit. If you ever feel unsure or have questions mid-process, do not hesitate to call our front desk — we are always happy to help.
What is included in my at-home injection kit?
Every shipment includes everything you need to administer your medication safely at home:
- Your compounded medication vial(s)
- Syringes and needles of the appropriate gauge and length
- Alcohol swabs
- A sharps disposal container
- Written administration instructions
- Access to instructional video resources
If anything is missing from your kit or you run low on supplies before your next shipment, contact our front desk and we will arrange replacements.
Where on my body should I inject?
The most common subcutaneous injection sites are the abdomen, the outer thigh, and the back of the upper arm. Your provider will recommend the best site based on your specific medication and your comfort level. Rotating injection sites with each dose helps prevent skin irritation and tissue buildup over time. Detailed guidance for each injection site is included with your kit and available through our instructional video library.
How often do I need to inject?
Injection frequency varies by medication and protocol. Some peptides are injected daily, others are dosed several times per week, and some are dosed weekly. Your provider will outline your exact schedule at your consultation, and it will be clearly documented in your prescription instructions. If you are ever confused about your dosing schedule, call our front desk or review it with your provider at your next appointment.
What do I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a scheduled dose, take it as soon as you remember — unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, in which case simply skip the missed one and resume your normal schedule. Do not double up on doses to compensate. If you frequently miss doses or are having trouble maintaining your schedule, talk to your provider at your next appointment so they can help you find a rhythm that works better for your lifestyle.
How should I store my medication?
Most compounded peptide vials should be stored in the refrigerator at 36–46°F when not in use. Once reconstituted (if applicable), many peptides should be used within 28–30 days. Keep vials away from direct light and never freeze them unless your specific instructions indicate otherwise. Detailed storage instructions are included with every shipment. If you are ever unsure about storage, call our front desk before using a vial you are concerned about.
What if my shipment gets warm during delivery?
DrWell ships all temperature-sensitive peptides and medications via overnight, temperature-controlled shipments. Compounding pharmacies perform stability testing to ensure medication integrity during transit. Based on published stability data, most peptide medications remain stable at temperatures up to 77–86°F for several days. Brief temperature fluctuations during shipping are typically accounted for in stability testing and do not compromise product quality. If you have concerns about a specific shipment — particularly during summer months or known transit delays — contact our front desk and we will review it with you before you use the medication.
What do I do with used needles and syringes?
All used needles and syringes must be disposed of in a sharps container — never in regular household trash or recycling. Once it is full, follow your local municipality’s guidelines for sharps disposal. Many pharmacies offer sharps drop-off, and some areas have mail-back programs. Our team can help point you in the right direction if you are unsure how to dispose of sharps in your area.
PEPTIDE THERAPY
What exactly are peptides and how do they work?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the building blocks of protein — that act as biological messengers in the body. They signal cells and tissues to perform specific functions, such as producing growth hormone, repairing damaged tissue, reducing inflammation, supporting collagen synthesis, or regulating appetite. Because they are naturally occurring and highly targeted, peptides can produce meaningful clinical effects with a relatively low side effect profile when properly dosed and monitored. Your provider will explain exactly how your specific peptide works and what physiologic effects to expect.
Are peptides the same as steroids or growth hormone?
No. Peptides are not anabolic steroids, and most peptides used in clinical practice work by stimulating your body’s own natural hormone and repair processes rather than replacing or artificially adding hormones. For example, peptides like CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin stimulate your pituitary gland to release its own growth hormone — they do not introduce synthetic growth hormone into your system. This distinction is clinically significant both in terms of safety profile and physiologic effect.
How long does it take to see results from peptide therapy?
This varies meaningfully by peptide, individual, and treatment goal. General timelines:
- Energy and sleep improvements: Often noticed within the first 2 to 4 weeks
- Body composition changes: Typically become apparent over 4 to 12 weeks with consistent use
- Tissue repair and recovery: Varies by the nature and severity of the concern, but many patients report improvement within 3 to 6 weeks
- Skin, hair, and collagen support: Generally requires 8 to 16 weeks of consistent use for visible improvement
- Cognitive and mood benefits: Often perceptible within 3 to 6 weeks
Peptide therapy rewards consistency. Results build over time, and stopping therapy before an adequate trial period may not give you an accurate picture of the therapy’s potential benefit for you.
Can I use peptides if I have a chronic health condition?
Peptide therapy may be appropriate for many patients with chronic health conditions, but this is always evaluated on an individual basis by your Living Wellness Physician. Certain conditions, medications, or health histories may affect eligibility or protocol design. This is one of the primary reasons a thorough consultation is required before any prescription is written. Please bring a complete and accurate medication and health history list to your appointment.
Are there any peptides I should avoid if I have a history of cancer?
This is an important question and one your Living Wellness Physician will address directly during your consultation. Growth hormone-stimulating peptides in particular require careful evaluation in patients with a personal or family history of certain cancers. Many peptides are appropriate for cancer survivors when properly selected and monitored; others require additional consideration or modification of the protocol. Living Wellness Medical Center recommends that all cancer survivors bring their pathology records and, where possible, obtain a note of support from their oncologist before initiating any peptide therapy.
SHIPPING & TRACKING
Where can I find my tracking information?
Tracking updates are sent directly via text message as soon as your medication ships from the pharmacy. If you did not receive a tracking text, or if you would like to check on the status of your shipment at any time, call our front desk and we will look it up for you right away.
How long does shipping take?
Standard delivery is typically 5 to 7 business days from the time your prescription is processed at the pharmacy. During holidays or periods of high pharmacy volume, delivery may take up to 2 weeks. If your supply is running low, we recommend contacting our front desk at least 2 weeks before you expect to run out so we can initiate your refill with adequate lead time.
Is shipping free?
Shipping costs and policies are discussed at enrollment – all shipping costs are included in your subscription.
What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
If your package does not arrive within the expected delivery window or arrives visibly damaged, contact our front desk as soon as possible. We will work with the pharmacy and shipping carrier to resolve the issue and ensure you are not without your medication. Please do not use any medication that arrived in a visibly compromised container.
DOSE CHANGES & FOLLOW-UP
Who do I talk to about adjusting my dose?
Any dose changes should be discussed with your Living Wellness Physician — not handled independently. Dosing decisions are based on your lab work, your symptom response, and your overall clinical picture. Bring any observations about how you are feeling to your next scheduled appointment and your provider will determine whether an adjustment is warranted. Please do not increase, decrease, or stop your medication without first consulting your provider.
How often will I need follow-up appointments?
Your first follow-up is typically scheduled 4 to 8 weeks after starting therapy, depending on your specific protocol. This is when your Living Wellness Physician will review your labs, assess your symptom response, and make any protocol refinements. After that, follow-up frequency is individualized — some patients are seen every 3 months, others every 6 months. Your provider will recommend a schedule that matches your therapy and health goals.
Will I need lab work during my treatment?
It depends on which compounded medication or peptide you are on. Routine lab monitoring is an essential part of safe, effective peptide and hormone therapy. Baseline labs are collected before your first prescription is written. Follow-up labs are ordered at intervals determined by your protocol and provider. Labs can be drawn at our office or at a LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics location near you. If you need guidance on where to get your labs drawn or what to prepare, contact our front desk.
CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel, simply give us a call or send us an email — our team is happy to assist. You can cancel and re-enroll at any time with no penalty. We just ask that you notify us at least 2 weeks before your next scheduled shipment so we can process the cancellation before your next order is prepared and dispatched. Please note that all subscriptions renew automatically until canceled — we are unable to issue refunds for shipments that have already been prepared and dispatched.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?
Yes. If you need a temporary break — whether for travel, a medical reason, or personal preference — we can place your subscription on hold rather than canceling it entirely.
Just contact our front desk with at least 2 weeks’ notice before your next scheduled shipment and let us know how long you would like to pause. We will pick back up on your timeline.
What if I want to change which product I am subscribed to?
Product changes require a brief consult with your Living Wellness Physician to review and ensure the new therapy is appropriate for you.
Contact our front desk, and they will coordinate the change with your provider and the pharmacy. Please allow at least 2 weeks for product changes to take effect before your next shipment.
