Food as Medicine
The purpose of our dietary counseling program is to assist a patient in the modification of their nutritional patterns with the intent of improving their overall health and lifestyle. Our naturopathic doctors provide science-based information, as well as practical knowledge and experience, to motivate patients to make the necessary changes in their dietary habits that will allow for the realization of his or her personal goals.
Living Wellness Doctors and Dietary Counseling
Our intention with the Dietary Counseling Program is to improve a patient’s health and quality of life through dietary education, advice, motivation, and accountability. Our naturopathic doctor will discuss with you, as her patient, realistic expectations based on age, health diagnosis, genetic and cultural factors, motivation level, and overall willingness to make the necessary modifications in one’s diet.
Individualized Dietary Counseling Program
We provide individualized dietary counseling, which will give you, as the patient, important insights into food-related illnesses, and education regarding how various nutrients (such as protein, carbohydrate, fat, and alcohol) can affect your specific illnesses or obesity levels. This program is tailored to meet the treatment needs of each patient and includes tailored meal planning and education about healthy eating habits. Our naturopathic doctors recognize the benefit of individualizing nutritional care and that a “one-size-fits-all” approach to modifying eating habits is not practical.
